On the Road with BAC40

“We don’t know what God has planned. We think its lawn care, but God only knows.”

No truer words could have been spoken. In September 2024 we saw BAC40 as a potential lawn care business. We thought we would be doing some landscaping, lawncare and real estate clean outs. But we were open to where God would take it.

And then He took it.

December 2024 life shifted and so did BAC40.

Love entered the scene.

Quickly.

Shane and Mandy
Shane and Mandy

Two born again Christians with the same purpose in life, “Serve God and His people.” Within a couple of weeks a new team was formed and a new path was beginning to take shape. The path was dim and there wasn’t much clarity. But there was love and love can take you anywhere.

With a new team forming, new plans had to be made. There was so much to consider. Where to live, how to move BAC40 forward and how we could move together as one in a totally new direction. Determining our goal and purpose was the easy part.

Our purpose:

To serve others. To work as unto God and not man. To strive in faith. To be examples of Christ’s love in all we do. To work at God’s speed.

It seemed that with those things in mind we should find a way easily. And yet the path would not clear. With every move blocked, with every opportunity falling through, anxiety and fear began to take over. We prayed and set out our intentions and laid it all at the feet of the only One that could make a way where there seemed to be no way. And then we would pick it back up again and try to steer the ship, get anxious and then lay it down again. And then pick it up again…and then lay it down again.

When there was nothing left to do, we prayed.

We prayed for strength and wisdom.

They always say, “Be careful what you pray for. If you pray for more patience, God will give you more opportunities to be patient. If you pray for peace, God will give you more opportunities to keep your peace.”

In this case He gave us more opportunities to strengthen our relationship no matter what was happening around us.

How would we deal with the hard times together? How would we hold each other up when we both felt we were falling? How would we stick together when it seemed easier to part ways and retreat to the old? How would we keep our relationship strong?

We quickly learned there was only one way.

We would turn to Him; we would pray and we would let Him lead us…together.

The beginning of the week was always the worst time. With no real path in sight and no doors opening the anxiety for the future would build and fear would take its course. And so, this particular Monday we gathered our strength and admitted we were weak.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

We all want to be strong. We want to have it all figured out and know exactly where we are going. We want to know the future and secure it. We believe that is true strength. We believe that if we have it all figured out THEN we are strong.

And not one of us does have it figured out.

When we surrender the plan and the path, when we believe that GOD answers our prayers and sees our true hearts desires, we must surrender and not freeze in fear when the answer comes. When the Red Sea finally parts will we stand on the shore in fear, or will we walk through the unbelievable and sometimes frightening path that He has provided? Will we take the first step in faith?

And so, BAC40 took a step into the unknown.

Within hours of those anxious Monday morning prayers the sea parted.

BAC40 Transport was born.

For now, Shane will be hauling/ serving members of the Amish community. A community that knows God and His word. What they don’t know or have assurance of is the TRUE love of Christ. The TRUE gift of salvation. They believe that salvation is a gift from God, but that it’s not guaranteed and can be lost. Leaving them in a life of striving for the gift instead of serving from a place of redemption and full restoration provided to them by the blood of their Savior. The opportunity to witness and encourage this community through a simple ride to the store may seem silly…but if God can use a talking donkey, He can surely use Shane. (lol)

Redemption.

Restoration.

If there is anything that has carried this BAC40 team throughout this life it is the gift of our salvation in Christ. The gift of being made completely new in Him. The gift that the tattered past can be used as a testimony of His goodness and His endless love if only we would turn from our wicked ways and lay it down before Him. Confess our sins and receive the gift of life. New life in HIM.

So here we go.

Is Amish hauling the end game for BAC40?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

But it’s right where He has us for now. We will steward the humble beginnings and keep our eyes on Him and continue to seek ways to serve Him and His people.  We will continue to dream of all we hope for our future together,  and we will continue to move forward, finding His strength in our weakness  and His calm in the storm.

BAC40 Transport is hitting the road.

Where to?

John 3:8

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.

Thanks be to God and the blessed friends and family He has placed in our lives. Without those things we would be sunk. We are ever grateful for the people He sends our way. Their love, prayers and encouragement are beyond priceless.

Stay tuned for more BAC40 adventures. We don’t know exactly what it will look like. God does and that is all we need to know.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
